about

Eat More Possum version. Eat More Possum was a duo featuring M. David Hornbuckle and myself; we played a few shows in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa in the mid-1990s. One day we were experimenting putting some of our songs on a little 4-track tape recorder. Late that night, after David left, I recorded this song which I had written years earlier for the Haemorrhoids. There is a long story behind this song, involving myself, Dave Nowak, Magid Arab (a Haemorrhoid), matching tweed jackets, and the Mudd Club. The Haemorrhoids never actually played this song, but David and Tym Cornell and I played it regularly in the Freeloaders, which also featured Brent Stauffer on bass and Don Thomas on drums. My old friend and original guitar teacher Phil Omi inspired the lead guitar part.
